world: india

For me, India defines the parameters of what life can be both horrible and wonderful, very often at the same time.

When someone asks where is my favorite place I have been, my response is there is one place I believe everyone should go.

But it is not easy. Crushing poverty and a millenia old social caste system that is not going anywhere soon make India a difficult life for millions who live there.

But India also holds a magic unlike anyplace else. A majestic and silent beauty, a people interested in a world far outside what their economics might ever let them see and a charming openness form the backdrop for a surreal but heart-breakingly honest culture.

The most weird and wonderful place I've been.
